The Reverend Mikah Hudson
Senior Pastor
Mikah was appointed to Highlands in June 2010. Rev. Hudson is a native of Robertsdale, Alabama and grew up in the United Methodist Church. He received his BA in History from Birmingham Southern and was awarded a Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. His wife, Missie, is a native of Florence. They are the proud parents of three daughters, Emmalynne, Eleanora and Miriam. Rev. Hudson has a very deep interest in liturgy and worship. He also has a particular interest in sacramental theology. Through the sacraments, not only do we strengthen our relationship with God through Christ, but also with one another. He is very relationship driven, an attribute that will serve him well in furthering Highlands’ outreach and evangelism. In his spare time, in addition to being a doting father, Rev. Hudson enjoys bird hunting, salt water fishing, and golf.
Reggie Holder
Director of Ministries
Reggie Holder has been in lay ministry here at Highlands since 1989. Originally from Tuscaloosa, Reggie came to Highlands in 1989 to serve as Youth Director. Over the years he began to help Highlands explore God’s call to our congregation to be in ministry to the Five Points South neighborhood. He helped establish the Festival of the Three Kings, the Highlands Child Care Center, and the Community Ministries programs of the Church. Reggie helped oversee the Connected by Faith building program that resulted in the unification of our church buildings. Reggie works closely with the Discipleship and Communications areas and numerous short term projects. He regularly leads Disciple Bible Study and often leads classes on Wednesday evening and Sunday morning. One of his favorite roles as a part of the Church Staff is the Children’s Moment as a part of the 10:45 a.m. worship Service. Reggie is married to Kristin Harper and they have two sons Carter and Graham. Reggie takes seriously the call for our church to be a place where all people are welcome to discover and use the gifts God has given them to be in service.
