Gabriel Fauré composed his Requiem between 1887 and 1890, and it quickly became one of his best-known works as well as a masterpiece of 19th century choral literature.  Its focus is on eternal rest and consolation, perfect for the celebration of All Saints.  The piece will be presented in the context of worship on All Saints Sunday, during which those who have died in the last year will be named and remembered.  Holy Communion will be celebrated and congregants will be able to light a candle in remembrance of their departed saints.  Worship and holy communion at Highlands United Methodist Church is open to all.  All are welcome!
