Child Dev Center
INVESTING IN GOD'S MOST PRECIOUS GIFTS
Our decade-old Child Development Center is one of our most important ministries, both for our church family and for our broader community. We welcome not only children from our church family but all children— regardless of race, creed, or faith—to attend.
OUR PURPOSE:
Highlands Child Development Center is a Christian, faith-based ministry of Highlands United Methodist Church. The Center strives to have a program which is inclusive, culturally diverse, and designed to meet the needs of church members and the community. All persons, regardless of race, creed, or faith, are welcomed to participate in our program. Christian holidays will be observed, but efforts will be made to create an awareness of, and appreciation for, other faiths and their religious practices.
Consistent with the Mission Statement of Highlands United Methodist Church, the goal of Highlands Child Development Center is to be a place where:
- all families are welcomed, valued, and encouraged to be part of community
- children experience and learn to share the love of God with others in a cooperative spirit of concern for others and the world in which they live
- children are encouraged to discover their God given gifts.
OUR STANDARDS:
We strive to offer the most professional educational environment with the highest standards for our CDC children. To that end, we are licensed by the Alabama Department of Human Resources and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. (NAEYC accreditation guarantees that affiliate programs have undergone comprehensive internal self-study and improvement.)
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT:
We also encourage parental partnership through numerous opportunities such as being a Room Parent, serving on the Parent Council, participating as a Board Member for the center, participating in our fundraisers, and more.
Our program accepts children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 4 years. We are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
We would be privileged for you to trust us with God’s most precious gift to you! We encourage interested parents or guardians to set up an appointment for a tour. Tours are available on the first Tuesday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
