Advent is the liturgical season that precedes and prepares for Christmas. It is a season of hope and longing, joyful expectation, and peaceful preparation. The season of Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas Day. Each Sunday of Advent we celebrate a different aspect of the preparation for the Christ child.
