Justice Denied, Not Justice Delayed

  • Highlands United Methodist Church 1045 20th Street South Birmingham, AL, 35205 United States (map)

A special public presentation, “Justice Delayed, Not Justice Denied: The Prosecution of the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing Cases,” and the personal and historical impact of the 1963 events that took place in Birmingham will be held at Highlands United Methodist Church, Wednesday, March 8th at 6:30 p.m. Former Alabama Attorney General Bill Baxley and Birmingham attorney and former U.S. Attorney Doug Jones will speak on their involvement to achieve justice.  This is a fascinating presentation that shows both the depth of depravity and the height of legal justice during the Civil Rights Movement.  Baxley and Jones will share the influence of their faith and legal experience in the prosecuting of this tragedy in the history of our nation, state, and city.

The presentation will take place in the Highlands United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.  Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited at no charge.  Childcare is available by reservation - contact Kristin Harper by March 1.  For more information, visit www.highlandsumc.net or call the church office at 205-933-8751.
