Festival of the Three Kings

Now going strong for over 15 years, the Festival of Three Kings is an event run by local United Methodist Churches that gives over 750 children associated with either Urban Ministries or the Department of Human Resources an opportunity to have a memorable Christmas. Highlands UMC is responsible for 100 children this year. You are invited to purchase gifts from a wish list ($100 limit) and these gifts will be distributed to the children’s families.

Children's Christmas Festival and Gift Distribution will be held in the Highlands Fellowship Hall on Saturday, December 8.  Volunteers to help at the event are needed!  Contact Deb Welsh to sign up!

Christmas Eve Hospitality Bags

Each year, Highlands' Open Table assembles gift bags for worshipers to take with them following Christmas Eve services.  These bags are a small way of showing our appreciation for those who must work the holiday - first responders, doctors and nurses, convenience store attendants, etc.  Join us in the Fellowship Hall to assemble the bags and fellowship together.

Individually wrapped snack crackers, nuts, cookies, or candy are needed to fill the bags!  Contact Michele Nailen to help out!

Stephen Ministry Training Reception

Highlands UMC will be training a new class of Stephen Ministers starting Sunday, September 23rd. Stephen Ministers work alongside our pastors to care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. If you have gifts for caring, encouragement, and listening, please begin to prayerfully consider whether you might want to be part of this exciting ministry.

If you think you might be interested, there will be an informational reception at the home of Annie Green on Sunday, August 26th at 5 pm.  Contact Annie Green at anniegreen2404@gmail.com for address and more information.

You can also email Mikah Hudson at mikah@highlandsumc.net, Deb Welsh at deb@highlandsumc.net, or Annie Green anniegreen2404@gmail.com.
